Electrode Paste height refers to the height from the end of the electrode clamp to the end of the electrode paste. If the paste is too high, the coarse and fine particles in the paste are easy to be stratified, or the cylinder of the electrode is dilated because of the pressure of the paste column is too high. If the paste column is too low, the pressure of the paste column is too low and the filling ability is poor, it is difficult to obtain a compact electrode. Electrode paste is consumed too fast. Appropriate paste column height can improve the quality of electrode roasting and reduce consumption.
Electrode paste is the conductive electrode of various submerged arc furnaces, and it is an indispensable product in industrial production. In order to improve the quality of the paste and master the performance of the paste for the manufacturers, we specially discuss the mechanical strength of the paste. In the standard of electrode paste, there is no mechanical strength quality index of the electrode paste, only the quality index of the compressive strength of the electrode paste. The mechanical strength itself includes the compressive strength, and there is correlation. As a standard, it may not put all things into the quality standard. However, the standard is the standard of more than ten years ago. The industry of electrode paste has developed rapidly in the past ten years, and it is specialized in our factory. When discussing the strength of the electrode paste, the door has to do a more comprehensive discussion.
The mechanical strength of electrode paste includes compressive strength, flexural strength and tensile strength. The mechanical strength of carbon products is anisotropic, that is, the composition of raw material particles of carbon products varies horizontally and vertically. The anisotropy of mechanical strength of electrode paste is not discussed here because of the production method of electrode paste. Material composition of electrode paste, i.e. different raw materials, particle size and proportion of raw materials, powder size and proportion, as well as coal tar asphalt content, has an impact on the mechanical strength of electrode paste, which we will discuss separately. In this paper, the effect of temperature change on mechanical strength of electrode paste during sintering is discussed only.
